Irish Coast Pub ~ Gulfport, MS

irish coast pubWhen we go out on the weekends, the Irish Coast Pub is one of our favorite places to go in downtown Gulfport. They almost always have live music and the atmosphere is great. The only downside is that it’s usually PACKED. (Not such a bad thing for the owner.) They have really good prices and a GREAT beer selection. I started out with the Truck Stop Honey, which was nice and malty with a hint of honey.

We had already had dinner but we decided to get a couple appetizers just to check things out. We had the Dublin Dip n’ Chips which was a blend of tomatoes, sage sausage, and cream cheese. It was KILLER! We also tried the Eggplant Fries which were served with a delicious garlic aioli. They literally melted in your mouth. I don’t think I’ve ever had fried eggplant that was so tender. The appetizers were so good, I can’t wait to go back and try some entrees!

Another beer I tried while I was there was the Newcastle Werewolf. I was intrigued by the Blood Red Ale. I wouldn’t say that it was anywhere near blood red, more like a Killian’s in color. Regardless of the color, it was DISGUSTING! My first thought was that it tasted like a werewolf’s sweaty armpit. I do not recommend trying it…unless you have no taste buds.

Overall, we had a great time. This is definitely a place you should go check out! You can look at their website here for more information, entertainment calendar, and menu.
